DOHA, QATAR: The U.S. Embassy in Qatar is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) to celebrate the Discover America Festival and Doha Learning Week.
A series of exciting activities in support of these initiatives will be taking place in Doha November 10-16, 2017.
The Embassy’s Open Mic Night event held last week gave young poets, musicians and spoken word performers of all levels and ages a chance to share their voices and their work with the community. William Grant, Chargé d’Affaires ad. interim at the US Embassy in Qatar said: “Events such as these help build critical thinking skills in young people, which in turn enhances their ability to solve problems. Young people with these skills grow up to become leaders.”
The objective of the Discover America Festival is to encourage locals and residents alike in Qatar to experience American culture, art, and education, and discover new opportunities to partner with American businesses in Qatar and abroad. The festival will be on-going until 18 November 2017 throughout Doha. For more information, please visit https://qa.usembassy.gov/our-relationship/discover-america-festival-2017/
